What qualifications do I need to become a mentor?

We welcome mentors from all backgrounds. The most important qualifications are a genuine desire to help young people, relevant life or professional experience, and the ability to commit to regular mentoring sessions for 12 months.

How much time commitment is required for volunteers?

Volunteer commitments vary depending on the role. Some opportunities require just a few hours per month, while others might need more regular involvement. We work with each volunteer to find opportunities that match their availability.

Can I participate if I'm not based in Kenya?

Many of our mentors and volunteers participate remotely. Our virtual mentoring platform allows people from around the world to connect with and support young people in Northern Kenya.

What support do you provide to mentors?

We provide comprehensive mentor training, ongoing support from our program team, regular check-ins, and access to resources and tools to help you be an effective mentor. You're never alone in your mentoring journey.
